Moving from Vision to Reality: The Roadmaps to Inclusion in Afghanistan brings together political figures, civil society representatives, human rights organisations, researchers, journalists, specialists and younger Afghans to discuss how those seeking a more inclusive and democratic future for Afghanistan can work together more effectively.
The conference builds on the previous Cambridge Afghanistan Series and on Mosaic’s Comprehensive Composite Roadmap, which compared more than 20 proposals for Afghanistan’s future. That work found broad agreement on principles such as representative government, fundamental rights, equality and the full participation of women. It also identified important areas of disagreement, including the route to political change, the role of the international community, the structure of government, national identity and the need to address historical injustice.
Over two days, participants will consider how these areas of agreement can be turned into practical cooperation, while allowing remaining differences to be discussed openly.
